Rollmark is built so that your photos stay yours. We don’t collect any data about you or your photos.

Your photos

• Rollmark reads your Apple Photos library on your Mac to write captions. Captioning uses Apple Intelligence on your Mac; photos are not uploaded to us or to anyone else.
• Rollmark writes to Photos only when you approve a caption or turn on Autopilot. It adds its caption after yours and the keyword “ai-captioned”, and it can put each photo back the way it was.
• Photos stored in iCloud Photos are downloaded by macOS when Rollmark needs them, the same way the Photos app does.

What’s stored, and where

• Captions, your reviews and edits, and a history of what Rollmark wrote are stored on your Mac and synced through your own private iCloud database, so your Macs stay in step. We can’t see that data.
• To add place names to captions, Rollmark sends a photo’s location (not the photo) to Apple Maps.

What we don’t do

• No accounts, no servers of our own, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.
• We don’t sell or share data, because we don’t have any.
